There are about 3 weeks left to Christmas!
My little ones are so excited!
This weekend we are putting up the Christmas tree, and soon presents will be added.
A season of good food, get-togethers with family and friends and lots of giving and receiving of gifts.
It is no wonder that the kids can barely contain themselves.
This Christmas, I shall be doing quite a bit of baking to give away to my family and friends. I guess this is to be expected when one has a recipe blog.
But I am happy to bake for people I love, and today I am sharing this recipe for a beautiful brownie with you!
Tender and moist, this brownie is made with dark Valrhona Chocolate + dried cranberries + macadamia nuts.
I think this is a match made in heaven!
To make this brownie, I used my Pyrex® Sculptured Bakeware.
The set consists of a 13×9-inch (2.8litres) and a 8-inch square (1.9litres) baking dish, both with covers. This bakeware goes to show that true classics never go out of style.
For over a century, Pyrex® has enjoyed a special place in the heart of good bakers because of its durability, toughness and versatility. It has become an essential in every kitchen.
Oven to table to storage versatility. Pyrex® bakeware is a versatile space saver kitchen piece for the modern compact kitchens. Made in USA from our signature Pyrex® glass that is known for its strength, this range of products are oven-proof and can withstand extreme temperature changes. Each piece of Pyrex® ware is multi-functional and can be used for preparation, baking, microwaving, serving, and storage. Your baking process is now a seamless effort.
– Microwave oven and convection oven proof
– Dishwasher safe
– Non porous – does not absorb or retain odours
Designed with distinct fluting, this is an elegant set of bakeware that is a great addition to your baking collection, or as a gift for someone who loves to cook or bake!
One advantage of baking with glass is that it doesn’t react with food, so if you are baking eggs or cooking something acidic like tomatoes and citrus, glass is a great option. The food will not discolor or have a metallic taste.
Another advantage that glass has is that while it takes longer to heat up, once it is heated, it retains heat really well, so this means that food served in the Pyrex® glass bakeware will continue to be kept warm.
Brownies are really easy to put together.
Let me show you how.
in a heatproof saucepan, melt the chocolate and butter.
Mix in the sugar and vanilla extract.
Add the eggs, one at a time and whisk to mix.
Stir in the dried cranberries and macadamia nuts.
Finally, stir in the dry ingredients until just mixed.
Pour the batter into a Pyrex® 8×8-inch baking pan that has been lightly greased. Smooth the surface of the batter.
Bake at 160°C for 25-30 minutes.
Allow the brownie to cool in the pan before cutting and serving.
