Workshop Description

In this workshop, we are making bread using a poolish starter. 

Make a beautiful braided loaf bread – it sounds daunting but I will show you how easy it is really to shape this gorgeous loaf of bread!

Also make otah cheese buns using one of my favourite things to eat – otah!  Savory mackerel otah paired with cheddar. These buns are so moreish they won’t last long before all get eaten.

What you will learn:
2 bread recipes and 2 methods of braiding/ shaping
Machine kneading of dough + hand-finish dough to window-pane stage
Hand-plaiting of loaf bread
Mixing, machine and hand-kneading and shaping of otah cheese buns

What you will prepare:
One braided bread loaf
Six otah cheese buns

What the fee includes:
Ingredients for the class
Use of kitchen equipment
Containers for bringing bread home
Recipe printout
Cleaning/ Washing

Class structure:
Introduction to ingredients.
Demonstration by Chef Diana Gale.
Interactive hands-on baking session.

Participants are to bring their own pen and clipboard for the class if they wish to take notes. 

NOTE: For this workshop, each participant will be making the dough from scratch individually. There is no sharing of equipment.

The maximum class size is 12. Classes will start with a minimum of 8 participants. Fees paid are non-refundable, and if a participant is absent for a workshop, no make-ups will be conducted. Fees paid cannot be transferred to another workshop.

In the event that the minimum number of participants is not met, the class will be cancelled. Participants will be informed via email and all monies paid will be refunded.

Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. Full payment must be made at the point of registration. Videography is strictly not allowed for this workshop.

All ingredients are halal.

All ingredients are pre-measured. Photos are for reference only and decorations may vary.
