Good quality canned food is a great thing to have in one’s pantry.
Sometimes, one just needs something to jazz up a dish and take it to a new level, and this is where canned food can help!
Today I am sharing a simple recipe – stir-fried cabbage but I added yummy chargrilled pork to add a new dimension to the dish.
Add this to some rice and this is a meal on its own!
Naturally I will not use just any canned food in my kitchen.
Kelly’s is a local company that manufactures an extensive range of Western style products and under the umbrella of Golden Bridge Foods Manufacturing, which has been producing some of the best meat products in Singapore since 1993.
And they have some amazing corned meats, namely, Bolognese Corned Pork, Curry Corned Chicken, Pastrami Corned Beef and Chargrill Corned Pork. These corned meats are so versatile, and can be used in so many ways!
I love the fact that these products are made in Singapore because I am a huge supporter of food that is produced locally!
As you taste Kelly’s corned meats, you will discover that they are not at all salty. In addition to being low in sodium, Kelly’s corned meats are also MSG-free, gluten-free and trans fat-free. Yes, canned food can be healthy choices too!
Let me show you how to cook this delicious stir-fried dish.
To start, mash Kelly’s Chargrill Corned Pork in a bowl and set this aside.
In a wok, stir-fry minced garlic in a little vegetable oil for 30 seconds.
Add the corned pork and stir to mix.
Add the cabbage and continue to stir-fry.
Season with soy sauce and white pepper. Add the water and cover the wok to allow the vegetables to cook and wilt.
Garnish with fried shallots and serve the cabbage immediately, as part of a meal, or on its own, with rice.
Enjoy!
